I have been a Sign Language Interpreter in the educational system for 18 years.
Worked with one student from 6th grade year through 12th. Interpreted in many different classroom settings and assemblies. Worked with many different styles of teaching from well educated teachers in all different situations.
Worked in all realms in the educational system, from elementary through high school. Worked with many different educational styles and many wonderful skilled teachers.
Worked with a 2nd grade student in the Pipestone Elementary for one year. Worked along with the 2nd grade teacher in her classroom helping, not only interpreting, but also other students who needed assistance.
Attended Southeast for their two year program, which also included two summers. Studied sign language and deaf studies. Member of the Sign Language Deaf Club.
Went through a 12 week course learning the ins and outs of the travel industry. From writing tickets to learning how to book things on line. Talking to airlines and hotels.
Took a year of classes to USF to study and possible get into the medical field.
Went for a year after high school, mostly general studies and working into my degree as a Travel Agent.
