RETAIL OPERATIONS (STORE)- Maintained "Ship's Store Afloat", a retail service outlet located on board a United States Naval Vessel utilized by 320 sailors daily for health and comfort goods, snacks, toiletries and numerous other resources to promote morale and offer friendly customer service around the clock as well as generating over $50K worth of revenue for the fiscal year.
STOREROOM MANAGEMENT- Responsible for over $25K worth of store and vending merchandise at any given period of retail operation. Consistent cleanliness of storerooms and 100% inventory validity in support of real world naval operations based in the Pacific region
CUSTOMER SERVICE- Constantly praised for the warm and friendly customer service offered at retail outlet; regardless of the time of day, conditions of the sea, or stress induced environments due to operations performed throughout Pacific. All revenue and profits were allotted to the ship's MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) fund which was directly utilized for the morale of over 320 sailors, which included cook outs, family days, and other morale boosting events such as fundraisers and the ability to purchase goods such as musical instruments and recreational.
REAL WORLD SITUATIONS- Directly involved in real world operations such as offering humanitarian aid in the Philippines due to devastation ?from Typhoon Haiyan in November 2013. Donated generous amount of goods as well as allowed sailors to donate cash to help purchase health and comfort goods from retail outlet to help those in need in wounded Philippine villages. Went to shore to pass out the resources to those in need as well as helped deliver numerous 50 pound bags of rice to isolated villages via helicopter.
AWARDS / ACHIEVEMENTS- While stationed on board USS Mustin from April 2012 through September, 2015 I have received two NAMs (Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal) for diligent service in a rescue operation for a down vessel that had run aground. Able to support all of the rescued crew; I offered and requisitioned supplies that were necessary for living aboard, offered laundering and barbering services for fresh uniforms and haircuts, that not only created a sanitary environment, but also provided morale for the devastated crew.
I also received Bluejacket of the Year for the year of 2014 as a sailor that was in competition with 120 other crew members that were looked at for excelling characteristics such as diligence in the line of duty for ship and crew, a hard working attitude, the ability to get the job done at any cost, and other guidelines such a earned qualifications and education.
