My responsibilities as a service express technician were to perform recommended service maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotation, tire repairs, air filter replacement, pollen filter replacement, fuel filter replacement, tire replacement, tire repairs, bulb replacement, spark plug replacement, brake pads and rotor replacement, brake flushes, coolant flushes, state inspections and vehicle multi-point inspection on customer vehicles that met Volkswagen's quality standards within a quick and efficient time frame.
Pre-Delivery Inspections required me to take responsibility of brand new unsold units and perform a quality pre-sale inspection which included but not limited to state inspections, trim installations, scanning the vehicle with a Volkswagen scan tool and checking control module operations, removing vehicle from "transport" mode, installing nitrogen in all 4 tires, presetting radio stations,clock,service reminders and verifying a full quality check of interior, exterior, underbody and finally performing a final test drive of vehicle before sending vehicle to get detailed.
As a PDI technician, I also completed Volkswagens Fast Track program to introduce me to Volkswagen specific electrical diagnostics, wire diagrams, scan tool operations and electrical wiring repairs.
My position as a tire technician required me to operate an impact wrench to remove customer wheels from their vehicles allowing me to perform job duties that consist of inspecting, repairing, inflating, replacing and balancing tires. My ability to follow orders in a timely fashion allowed for efficient use of customers time which was monitored by our computers which would track our "bay times" to prevent any delays.
My responsibilities as a service coordinator were to maintain work bays, dispatch service orders, pull in/out vehicles while keeping workflow efficient and dealing with any potential delays as they occurred. When the vehicle has a delay it was my responsibility to communicate with the tire technician and gather information and directly communicate with the customer and inform them of the concern at hand and resolve the delay. After customer vehicles are finished I would remove the vehicle from the bay and inform them of the work performed and address any questions they may have.

on customer vehicles. Some of the work performed included oil changes, tire rotations, tire repairs, tire balancing, tire replacement, air filter replacement and a vehicle multi-point inspection. Performing service repairs that met Nissan's quality of service in an efficient manner were my goals as a service express technician.
In the Automotive Technology curriculum, I learned the basics of engine management, basic electrical, automatic transmissions, manual transmissions, air conditioning and heating, brakes, tires, alignment, service writing and basic diagnostics.
