As a senior scientist, I have been working on the cardiovascular drug development research area for the past 8-9 years at Amgen San Francisco. At Amgen, the primary responsibility was to develop the novel therapies for unmet need of heart failure and vascular diseases. I have proposed/supported multiples targets for heart failure and vascular disease. over a 8-9 years, I was project team lead (PTL) for two projects and was project team representative (PTR) of in vivo/ex vivo pharmacology or biology for several other projects. Over a 8 year background coordinating with cross-functional teams, including pathology, protein science, toxicology, chemistry, and structural biology. Recently, one project went to IND filing/phase-1 clinical trial stage and other projects are at different stages of the drug development processes.
Apart from above responsibilities, over a 8-9 years, as a principal investigator (PI) of the IACUC protocol, I have developed many different animal protocols related to heart failure and vascular disease. As a PI other responsibilities including oversee the ethical use of animals, design the animal studies to comply the IACUC guidelines, and train the scientists in techniques, and resolve animal welfare issues. d
Also, I have 11 years of experience in cardiovascular physiology at various academic labs. Where, I worked on multiple aspects of cardiovascular disease areas including cardiac myofiblasts role in cardiac fibrosis, regulation of circadian rhythm of cardiovascular physiology, anticancer drug (e.g., sunitinib, Imatinib, Kyprolis) effects on cardiovascular toxicity.
