EBARA LAB DRAIN SYSTEM
Requested from Corporate office to work with Facilities Manager to meet State requirement of waste water disposal from CMP systems.
Key points: Upgrade Ebara Facility to allow for separation of waste water contaminated with heavy metals.
Reduce waste water treatment cost by diverting DI water to drain.
Issues: Drain system has to know operational status of CMP systems in lab.
Proposal: Design PLC system to control main drain lines from tool during operation.
Time from proposal to implementation was one month.
EBARA ROTARY JOINT TESTER
Proposal to reduce man hours of Rotary Joint Testing Program.
Design and fabricate tester from spare and new parts with as little cost as possible.
Key points: Must be able to test two rotary joints and prepare documentation.
Project consisted of Electrical cabinet containing PLC controlled Solenoid valves and motor controls.
Time from proposal to implementation was one month.
EBARA LAB LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM
After major leak of DI Water Supply system Facilities made a request for designing leak detection system.
Source an automatic dialer system to tie into facilities network that would detect a water leak or high rate of flow.
Issues: Dialer system only contained dry contacts and all leak detection had to be designed in house to integrate the separate systems as one.
Design proposed and implemented one week after arrival of dialing system.
EBARA ROBOT REFURBISHMENT PROGRAM
Request from Materials department to submit operational proposal for customer cost reduction plan including robot refurbishment program.
Present plan to corporate managers with proposed budget
Issues: Sourcing of material and knowledge was limited.
Plan: Source Software, Hardware and reverse engineer robots.
Train staff to perform robot repair program
Project timeline for implementation was one month, headed by R&D department under my for one year.
