Growing up in a Pastors home, Ministry has always been a part of my life. After Graduating from Bible College My wife and I moved to Colorado Springs Colorado to be Youth Pastors for 31/2 years. We saw much growth both spiritually and numerically.
We moved to Dallas, TX. to work with a Ministry that used athletes to bring a message of hope to High School kids during the day and held city wide crusades in the evening. We were able to travel all across the nation and be in all kinds of Churches, this was a great learning experience on many levels.
We then took a position as Youth Pastors at Church on the Rock North in Carrollton, TX. It was here that we really began to see great fruit in our ministry and our Youth ministry grew to over 300 student attending on a weekly basics.
We then took a great step of faith and moved our young family to the Detroit area and became Senior Pastors of Zion Christian Church. The church had gone through an extremely difficult season that resulted in the resignation of several Pastors and two lawsuits. We worked with the founding Pastor for about eight months and then stepped into the Senior Pastor role. We battled through the lawsuits and a tarnished reputation and saw Gods grace bring us back for under 500 people to an average weekly attendance of 1,200.
While working with the Power Team, I was responsible for managing
large events that filled 15,000 seat coliseums in many cities across
the nation. I had responsibility from start to finish and learned how
to negotiate contracts for building rental, promotion, housing and
sound an lighting. We also work with churches to bring unity and a
city wide vision for workers and follow-up.
My wife Connie and I built a strong and diverse youth ministry while
we were in the Dallas area. We developed a growing ministry that
grew from 30 students to over 300 coming on a weekly basses. We
started a campus ministry that had Bible clubs on 25 campuses and
did regular outreaches that had great effectiveness. We started a
mentoring and ministry training program called, "Masters
Commission" that produced many full time youth Pastors. We had
wonderfully fruitful time in Dallas.
