My name is Denver Eaton, I currently work for Blatter Construction as a roofer. I have been with them for four and a half years now. Over my time with Blatter I have accumulated many different skills. I know how to operate a fork lift, excavator and a front loader. I also know how to use many different hand tools. I am also very ambitious and love learning new skills. I have taken the keys assessment test and have my certification for that, and am willing to further my training where necessary.
- Supervised my crew members, staff of three.
- Train new employees.
- Applied and trained safety procedures and policies.
- Successfully completed my keys assessment test.
My job tasks at the Tire Den consisted of running the skiver, this machine was used to take damaged areas out of a tire. I would also run the builder, which takes in new tread and then it stretches the new rubber on the old casing. Another task would be loading the tires into the pressure chamber. Throughout this job I learned how to operate a lot of different machinery and learned the importance of team work on a assembly line.
I worked with Rodgers for a little while to try and further my job experience. While I was with them I learned how to do basic plumbing and some pipe fitting. I also learned how to properly place drywall and apply the tape and mud.
I worked with Sherwood Enterprises in North Dakota. I went up there to be a rig hand, I enjoyed this job and how much I learned while on location. I took this job also for the experience and to further my career, but the company ended up getting bought out and I was laid off. So I only worked with them for a short amount of time. Throughout both this job and Rodgers Excavation I remained employed with Blatter Construction as a part time employee.
I am currently employed with Blatter construction, I have been there since May of 2009. Over the time period of working with Blatter I have learned so many different skills. My job description at Blatter is roofing, this job consists of tearing of old shingles and putting them into a dump truck, laying down new decking, applying felt-tex, ice and water paper then placing the new shingles down or metal depending of the type of roof the customer is wanting, then taking the dump truck and unloading the old shingles at the dump. I am also qualified to do other types of roofing like T.P.O. coverings and elastimaric coatings. Another task is pick up and delivery of materials needed to complete a job.
