I have about 15 years of piano playing experience, as well as knowledge of college level Music Theory levels 1-4. During my time as a pianist, I also learned how to play the violin, mandolin and guitar. While I continue as a secretary for my church, I hope to be able to start my own piano studio. As the times we are living in are rather uncertain, my goal is to have my piano studio be an online option. By offering lessons through Skype, I do believe I will be able to reach a larger audience. I will offer courses to learn the piano, violin and an extensive knowledge of music theory.
Another one of my hobbies, is writing. I don't necessarily want to spend the rest of my life writing for other people, but I am willing to use it to bring in some money. I have several running book ideas, and have worked on them on and off. Because of college and work, I hadn't had much time to work on an idea extensively. But now that I have graduated, and am settling into a more regular routine, I would like to pick back up this passion of mine.
My work history has covered many different jobs and environments. My first job was at 15, and I worked as a waitress at a diner. From there I went to a bank, and then Chick-Fil-A, etc. The many job changes have been because of a move, or because of health reasons. However because I have had experience in so many different working environments, it has made me quite flexible to any type of work. I am skilled at adapting to any high-paced, stressful or deadline driven job, as well as being able to go at a slower pace for counting or detailed work.
There have been several times where my skills have been called upon outside of a job. Such as a few weddings I have been too, mainly friends, where I ended up coordinated the event for the bride. It's not something I would make my career out of, but I do enjoy coordinating events such as weddings for the hosts and hostesses. It relieves stress from everyone attending, and makes the event much more enjoyable.
Overall, I am skilled at coordination, organization, and meeting needs and deadlines. My personality has been described by my piano instructor and previous employers as a 'go-getter'. I am a team-player, and make sure no one gets left behind, but I also keep the end goal in sight.
