My first year of teaching, I was nominated for the "Teacher of Promise" award for demonstrating promising practices in my daily classroom lessons and activities. Due to my dedication in the education field, I was chosen to be a part of the "Leadership Committee" at Davis Elementary to represent the teachers and help make decisions and create new standards school wide. Throughout my eight years of teaching second grade, I was the "Team Leader" for two years, which requires assisting your fellow teachers, planning and running meetings, providing trainings and collaborating with team members. I also became English as a Second Language and Gifted and Talented Certified, so I was able to better teach and assist the children in my classroom to meet a variety of levels of ability.
