My intent was to to attend Virginia Tech and participate in the Corps of Cadets with the goal in mind of eventually commissioning into the Air Force, but due to nut allergies I was disqualified from service and returned home near the end of matriculation for the Corps of Cadets due to the financial aspect as result of the nut allergies no longer being feasible without the service component. Instead I've redirected my ambition to serve into law enforcement as a career, rather than entering the Air Force and later on transitioning into law enforcement following service. Currently I'm looking at attending Appalachian State University in Spring 2021 for Criminal Justice and for the Appalachian Police Officer Development Program. The program allows participants to work as a Cadet for security to events on campus during their Junior year, then during the Summer between their Junior/Senior year complete Basic Law Enforcement Training to transition into working part-time as an officer for the Appalachian Police Department while completing their degree. Following Appalachian State I have ambition to join the North Carolina State Highway Patrol through lateral entry coming from my experience at Appalachian Police Department, or otherwise pursue a career in law enforcement.
