Started as entry level order picker, quickly became a million pound puller and looked for opportunities to advance.
In January of 2012 was promoted to Dock foreman/inventory control, a daily basis would consist of scheduling pickers pull sheets, organizing truck loads, loading trucks, offloading incoming material.
Inventory control consisted of cycle counting, directing other in cycle counting and root causing variances. There was a 100% count of inventory done monthly.
Started as a material handler and showed quickly I could be an asset in other parts of the business, within the first two weeks i was promoted to Cycle counter/Inventory control for the 2 of the 3 buildings.
Worked in that position for 6 months, daily responsibilities were; to count products, reconcile variances, root cause BOM issues, coordinate with buyers (ROPs, overstocks, low inventory). Was also responsible for the quality rejects, getting material sent back to vendor for credit and identify the issue to ensure product came in correct.
In January of 2014 was promoted to Lead of half the campus. With this promotion I maintained the Inventory control portion of my previous role. New responsibilities included directing receiving team on daily business, product delivery to the lines, leaning out inventory from the lines, improving on inventory days in conjunction with the buyers, ensuring cycle counting was complete, coordinating incoming material. The success of my two plants earned me a promotion to campus wide lead a position.
In February of 2015 i was promoted to Receiving Supervisor i still maintained inventory control aspects of the position. Some of the new responsibilities were investigating and implementing ideas for quality improvement, increased productivity and cost reduction, Completing and managing required safety training programs all PIV (forklifts, stand ups, 4D, Crane) and updating and auditing standard work processes for all our job functions.
In my two years at my current position I have participated in numerous kaizen events, took on stretch assignments with our ERP team, handled material manager duties during the 6 months the position was vacant and have directed our yearly physical in each of the last two years. My success in the position earned me supervisor of the year for 2015
