Gabriel Dichter Research deals with autism spectrum disorders and addresses mesolimbic response to social and nonsocial rewards in children with autism and whether such responses may be predictors of treatment response.
The lab also deals with molecular genetic and neuroimaging predictors of response to talk therapy.
My role was to enter data in the NDAR database, score several diagnostic and intelligence tests including the ADOS, KBIT, and WASI, attend lab meetings and a weekly social skills group for high-functioning autistic teens, generate fMRI images using MATLAB, and develop scripts for fMRI image viewer/manipulator, FSL Independent Study: Exploring Neuroscience and Art Description: There are certain principles that guide and shape the way human perception is carried out in order for an individual to have an aesthetic experience.
How we fundamentally see beauty (or not) in both art and nature involves numerous disciplines.
The emotional response in particular that accompanies seeing an object, a landscape, or a face sheds light not only on the elements of art but also our complex mental states.
How seeing alters the thing seen and transforms the seer is the dialect that I am most interested in exploring further.
