Dedicated undergraduate that possesses discipline, leadership skills, and a passion for outreach and volunteering. I have had the opportunity to be part of the University's research in the U of MN Biomedical Engineering Department and the Visible Heart Lab. As the vice president of the Biomedical Engineering Society, I have been able to connect students with with what it means to be a biomedical engineer, and what it means to be an engineer as the president of Building Engineering Technical Skills. Outside of school, I have volunteered at two hospitals and a youth program in North Minneapolis for underrepresented students.

Worked in HCMC's Emergency Department with physicians, nurses, EMS, and medical personnel to collect data for research studies focused on improving the quality of provided care and the hospital's medical protocols.

Responsibilities include assisting medical personnel, sanitizing rooms and medical equipment, restocking rooms and supplies, and providing hospitable care for patients assisting them with what they need.

Visible Heart Lab
Work with professors, scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate students to prepare, set up, and assist in the Visible Heart Lab including the Operating Room.
Responsibilities include cleaning, stocking, and maintaining equipment.
Continuous learning opportunities are present such as observing surgeries performed on pigs using different medical devices, surgical procedures, and medical equipment.

Mentor to a 9-year-old girl at the Plymouth Youth Center in North Minneapolis.
Mentorship includes meeting weekly with my Little and being a consistent, reliable role model with the goal of providing support in possible unstable environments.
Activities include reading every week to encourage expansion of her reading subjects and some form of arts/crafts/projects to push creativity and bonding.

Work with Associate Professor Shai Ashkenazi to test fiber optic wires and determine whether they can be used to emit acoustic waves to break calcified, occluded arteries.
