Responsible for the care of emergent and non- emergency patients. Identify and manage life- sustaining physiologic functions in unstable patients, using critical thinking to intervene with appropriate interventions for urgent/ emergent care. Responsible for the coordination of care of high acuity patient with urgent and emergent conditions including and not limited to level 1 Trauma patients, level 4 Neonatal ICU and pediatric patients. Ability to deploy rapid assessment and treatment of patients in a highly critical environment. Strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to triage effectively.
Responsible for the care of high acuity cardiac patients requiring intensive monitoring. Ability to deploy rapid assessment skills using highly technical equipment, titration and management of high alert medications- Alines, Swan Ganz, Ventilators, Central lines, Vasoactive drugs. Strong organization and prioritization skills. Advanced to leadership role as charge nurse.
Surgical nurse responsible for the coordination of 5-7 patients with complex medical and surgical problems. Worked in a team nursing model with an LPN managing the over site of several patients.
IV Team nurse responsible for the preparation of patients for surgery with insertion of IV lines and replacement of IV lines when they were infiltrated or needed changing. Responsible for the administration and hanging of total parenteral nutrition and chemotherapeutic agents.
