I am currently seeking an opportunity to re-enter the teaching profession after leaving it 17 years ago to raise my family. During my absence from education, I went to nursing school and worked on average 1-2 nights per week to both challenge myself personally and help provide for my family. Now that my youngest child is school-age, I would like to return to my first profession.
I am currently employed by WRHS as a staff nurse in Women's Services. I only work occasionally when they have an infant requiring special care.
I started at JPS as a senior nursing student in the Neonatal ICU. Following graduation, I was hired on as a staff nurse in the same unit. I became proficient in caring for the most critical infants during my tenure there. We moved from the Ft. Worth area during that time. After several years of commuting, I chose to take a position at the local hospital.
I completed my student teaching assignments at Parkview Elementary during the spring semester of 1993. Following graduation, I was hired by the principal at the time, Ms. Judy Bagby, to fill an opening as a third grade teacher. I excelled at teaching and thoroughly enjoyed my career for two full years. My first child was born immediately following the end of the 1994-1995 school year, at which time I resigned my position so that I could stay home to raise my children.
