I finished Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1994 and successfully passed the Nurses Licensure Examination in the same year. I did not start practising my profession until I have passed the CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools) in May 1995. I initially volunteered as a nurse trainee in a neonatal intensive care unit to gain some experience until I was finally taken on as a staff nurse in another hospital. I was mainly assigned in the neonatal unit but was frequently requested to help out in other wards, so I have gained quite a lot of experiences in various areas. When I went to UK in 2003, I started working in a nursing home as a health care assistant while waiting for my registration number as a nurse which I finally obtained in 2005 after doing Adaptation Programme in an acute medical ward in Northampton General Hospital. Having worked in the hospital, I have gained a lot of knowledge and skills which I was able to use in the delivery of care to our elderly residents with complex medical needs. I also developed a good rapport with other members of the team which made it easier for me to achieve goals and resolve issues that arise. My family then moved to Western Australia in 2009 for better career opportunity and for our children's welfare. I have been working as a Registered Nurse in Residential Aged Care Facilities since.
