Evaluate and oversee the workload of 10 eligibility counselors to ensure correct application of policy and procedure in all casework. Discuss job plans, conduct monthly conferences with each counselor, evaluate performance, create and implement Performance Improvement Plans. Consider all factors when determining need for disciplinary action. Continually learn and review policy and procedures to keep up to date on current DHS policy.
Evaluate and review Overpayment claims in the SNAP, AFDC, Families First programs written by 8 Investigative Specialists for accuracy and intent. Interview clients and resolve both non fraud and suspected fraud claims administratively with repayment agreements, waivers and administrative hearings. Prepare court reports and present cases to Grand Jury on suspected Fraud claims. Assist with Special Projects as needed.
Conducts case reviews of Family Assistance records to determine if an overpayment has occurred in the SNAP, Families First, or AFDC programs. Prepare claim reports for both non fraud and suspected fraud claims.
Interview and determines initial and ongoing eligibility in a timely and accurate manner for client applying/receiving Food Stamps, AFDC, Families First, Medicaid and TennCare programs. Maintain caseload of clients participating in the programs administered by DHS. Help convert paper records to ACCENT computer system.
