Hard-working, experienced Program Coordinator focused on making the lives of people I work with fulfilling and meaningful. Dedicated to delivering the highest quality service to every client. Reliable and conscientious.
Lead the Peoples First group for Wright County. Teaching self advocacy, finding volunteer opportunities in the community and holding fund raisers.
Started an independent adult group that went out once a month on the weekends and joined in many community activities.
Planned an activity for all of the people we work with twice a month focusing on I.L.S. skills but making it fun through games, cooking groups, special speakers, skits and much more.
As a P.C. I was responsible for over seeing 30-35 people with disabilities and 1-3 staff per person. For the staff, scheduling, making sure goals were being implemented, paperwork completed and training current. For the clients and their families always making sure they were satisfied and there was always open honest communication. Most important making sure the people we worked with were as independent as possible.
The first room I supervised was with non-verbal clients with many behavior problems. We concentrated on sensory and behavior management. This is where I learned so much about deescalation and avoiding behaviors by seeing what made them happy and what didn't. We started taking many field trips, going out to lunch, movies, the zoo the walking track etc. and behaviors were greatly reduced. The next room they were verbal clients with a variety of disabilities where I came up with adaptive ways for them to perform different jobs during their day.
