Started as a printer with 20-35 thousand pieces per day. My supervisor asked me to fill in on a high speed press as a bulk packer, while performing my duties I took the opportunity to teach myself and learn to operate the high speed press. Within a few months of my employment I was promoted to the high speed printing press.
During my employment Cinram offered their employees the chance to join a technician apprentice program. I successively passed the entry exam and was enrolled in the program, where I had the opportunity to attend Johnson School of Technology and completed all related courses in hydraulics, pneumatics, single and three phase A.C. circuits as well as D.C. circuits. We also studied P.L.C.'s (programmable logic controls). During my employment I had hands on training on injection molding presses and all styles of screen and offset printing presses. Cinram also on every rotation had extensive training and testing programs for the technicians to follow and stay current with their skills and knowledge.
