Team Building and Leadership
Responsible for managing the day to day operations of a Junior High School campus containing 30 certified teachers, 3 custodial employees, 4 para-professionals, and 3 administrative positions. Monitored and prepared appraisal schedules and reports for the above-referenced individuals. Prepare monthly time clock reports as well as payroll reports for qualified employees. Manage and develop budget for the school year using funding formulas provided us by the Texas Education Agency.
Responsible for the interviewing, recruiting, and performance monitoring of educators employed on this campus. All of these efforts were performed with the intention of moving the campus out of School Improvement into a "Met Standard" category on the Texas State standardized assessment tests. Campus identified as having met standard as a result of the Spring 2013 test results.
Assist with administrative leadership for a 1,050 student campus.
Serve as Lead Assistant Principal in the area of day-to-day management of the campus and mentor two new Assistant Principals. Supervise AP secretaries, coordinate drills/emergency preparedness, prepare teacher duty roster. Responsible for entering and monitoring completion of work orders on campus. Manage discipline referrals for campus as well as serve as Chairperson for ARD and LPAC committee.
Assist with administrative leadership for a 1,565 student campus
including discipline management for the 7th grade student body, performance reviews for one fourth of faculty members, textbook coordinator for 7th and 8th grade. Oversee building operations including supervision of custodial staff and Youth Action Center officers.
Act as one of the campus Spanish language translators for parent
Conferences, ARD meetings, and school open houses. Serve as Safety Coordinator for the campus. In this capacity I am responsible for completing the Safety and Security Audit as well as monitoring safe work practices on campus.
Utilize various teaching strategies such as the lesson cycle, motivation
theory, principles of reinforcement, and total physical response to
teach the Spanish language and culture to multi-level ability students.
Demonstrated proper oral pronunciation of target language as well as tested oral, listening, and written comprehension of target language.
Managed instructional time effectively and applied discipline in a firm/fair and consistent manner to maximize instructional time in class.
