I taught for four years at an elite private school, where I had the unique opportunity of teaching students in grades first through twelfth. During my years there, I taught one-on-one and groups comprised of 4 to 65 students. Two of those years I also was an advisory teacher to student teachers from a local college. I was responsible for grading lesson plans, bit teachings, full lessons and helping to develop their natural talents. After I married my husband I was able to start my own private piano studio for 2 1/2 years which comprised of 35 students. I've also had tutoring experience with elementary students at a local private school.
I am currently finishing my Presidential term in the Columbus Spouses' Club. I hold and run monthly board meetings for our board of governors which is comprised of about 30 people. I am responsible for overseeing social events and philanthropic donations/activies as well. The club has 60 to 70 members.
I started and ran my own private piano studio, teaching students ages 3 1/2 to 40. When I first started the studio it only had a few students for the last year and a half I had about 35 students. I used creative methods to teach notes, rhythm, and music.
Organized and ran monthly socials for spouses on base (with two co-chairs) the attendance ranged from 20 to 70 people.
I tutored for half days at Immanuel tutoring students in grades 4th through 6th. Most of the tutoring was in math but the teachers would have me tutor in other areas as well- such as English and Phonics.
I taught private music lessons to students in first grade through twelfth grade. I taught group piano lessons to students in first through third grade. I taught third grade theory to classes of 20-30 students for three years. I coordinated and directed third grade band for two years while I was there. For two years I was the advisory teacher to multiple student teachers- I was responsible for grading their teaching, lesson plans, and developing their natural talent.
Won First Place in the Pensacola Sonata Contest in 2003 at the Collegiate Woodwind Division.
Won a First Place Scholarship Columbus Spouses' Club Scholarship in April 2012.
My senior year of high school I took private clarinet and piano lessons as well as joined the ASC's college band.
