Experienced Bioanalytical Chemist with interest in protein chemistry, novel immunotherapies, biomolecule separations, pharmaceutical development, bioconjugation, and developing advanced analytical methods that probe complex biological systems.
Currently, I am a Fellow within the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department. My principal effort aims to identify and analyze the role of post-translational modifications of androgen receptor (AR) in driving prostate cancer tumorogenisis. Through proteomic analysis of patient donor prostate samples, provided by Northwestern University Hospital, we have uncovered acetylation patterns of AR that corresponds with prostate cancer disease state and progression. With this information, I am now producing novel acetyl-lysine modified peptide epitopes of androgen receptor to induce CD8+ CTL immunotherapies against metastatic PCa.
In this role, I analyzed and maintained the chemical processing baths required for prototype circuit board manufacturing. During my time with this cross functional team, I expanded my responsibilities to include photolithography, lamination, etching and quality inspection of printed electronics. I gained invaluable experience working to meet strict deadlines and provide quality deliverables that met exact engineering specifications.
My dissertation projects were unified by the theme of employing bioconjugation strategies to develop enhanced biomolecular interactions at bio/inorganic interfaces, the applications of which were 1) bio derived photovoltaic devices and 2) Development of biosensor platforms for multiplexed metabolite sensing in vitro Organ-on-Chip (OoC) systems.
