Method: Observe various issues that are affecting how students are getting to, from, and/or around campus and determine alternate methods for transportation.
The ideal solution would keep students from feeling overcrowded on shuttles, being late for class, and walking long distances to shuttle stops.
A mobileaccessible solution that facilitates peertopeer ridesharing would be optimal by giving assistance to fellow students who need to get to class in a short time.
General Engineering Topic: Optimization improving a process using tools such as current system modeling, data collection, process analysis, and generation of alternatives.
Design of Experiments: "Trashketball" - a tribute to Kobe Bryant's retirement Purpose: of this experiment is to prove that the greater the distance a subject is from the basketball goal, the less likely a subject would make the basketball shot.
Method: The distance would be increased in increments of 5 feet and the subject would, ideally, make fewer shots as the distance increases.
Results: Based on the results of the statistical analysis, there is a significant difference between treatments which means distance from where a shot is taken has an effect on the accuracy of making a basketball shot.
General Engineering Topic: Design of Experiments/SAS programming using various experimental designs to analyze data for research projects, process improvements, human factors studies and surveys.
Statistical software is utilized to analyze results as well as parametric statistics such as analysis of variance.
