As a staff Pharmacist my main duties included taking care of the customers, counseling, and following up with their illnesses. I got to focus less on managing inventory, taking care of paperwork and legal requirements. My main focus was customer care.
Filled prescriptions, counseled patients, and helped manage inventory and manpower. Due to pregnancy illness, I was unable to continue in this position.
Connected next to a Physician's office, I got a different perspective on some of the actual work that goes on in a Dr's office. Under the guidance of an MA in the physicians office, I was able to take vitals, check test results, and be involved with infusion set up. I still filled prescriptions and took care of the patient's medication needs, but I also learned several unique skills.
I started my pharmacy career with Walgreens as a technician. Over many years I learned more and became responsible for more. I finished up as a Pharmacist in Charge and decided to try a smaller and more personal company with new things to learn, such as setting up accounts with wholesalers, working with third party plans to get a fair contract, and different computer options.

With training in FirstAid and CPR, I have volunteered as the safety officer at our district's cub scout summer camp. I have also helped as a medical liason at district events for both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
As my father suffered from bone cancer before his death in 2003 and my sister is an oncology nurse, I helped her with much of his care, such as catheters, feeding tubes, home infusions, and medication management.
