I have worked with children in a variety of positions since 1987. I strive to always make a positive impact on all children I have contact with.
Facilitate weekly parenting classes using the Soledad Enrichment Action Curriculum. This is a certified twenty week class. Participants voluntarily attended the class or were ordered by Tulare County Courts, Child Protective Services, School District, Foster Parenting agencies, or Juvenile Probation.
Facilitate parenting classes for parents of residents/clients and an additional class for teen fathers. Work as part of a treatment team to form treatment plans, appropriate discipline action, and assist with the rehabilitation process for teen males on juvenile probation. Interview teens and parents to complete intake process. Prepare reports for probation officers and courts. Encourage parents and teens to work toward healthy relationships, and then make court recommendations regarding aftercare placement. Make aftercare action plans with families. Maintain ethical and professional boundaries.
Develop and manage case plans for victims of domestic violence and homeless families. Promote self-sufficiency through job development and placement, education advocacy, budget planning, life skills, and housing placement. Provide court support for client and reports to the courts. Manage caseloads of fifteen to thirty clients, and kept detailed reports. Transport clients. Work closely with law enforcement, Victim Witness, Child Protective Services, and numerous community agencies. Manage transitional housing clients. Give community presentations on domestic violence and sexual assault. Received 40-hour Sexual Assault Certification.
Manage approximately eight to fifteen clients from birth to eighteen years of age. Interview and evaluate clients to make necessary community referrals. Facilitate children's enrichment program, and counsel families regarding domestic violence and crisis intervention. Facilitate parents classes for shelter clients. Answer crisis phone calls, and transport clients. Perform case management duties in extended absence of Case Manager. Prepare detailed reports. Received 40-hour Domestic Violence Certification.
Develop and manage individual learning plans for preschool aged children. Assist high risk families with their social, educational, nutritional, economical, and physical needs. Promote self-sufficiency and family unity. Work with special needs children and adults. Assisted non English speaking families.
Plan athletic and recreational activities for large groups of children age six to twelve years of age. Facilitate positive teen programs, and community events such as dances, cheerleading camps, Friday Night Live events, and Parent's Night Out events. Supervise staff of five to ten workers.
