Search for shipments-call for the shipment and set it up being meticulous on the details with broker,(Weight, size, pick up and drop off addresses, pick up and drop off days, negotiate price, get all contact information needed and give business contact information). Make out Bill of Laden and print off all necessary paperwork needed, Call to set up a pick up time, Do pre checks on Vehicle and trailer. Drive to pick up location keeping them informed of progress. While driving doing during operation checks constantly. At pick up decide best way to load and strap down. Call and set up drop off time. Drive to drop off location keeping them informed along the way. At drop off collect payment or send all needed paperwork for payment. After job completion do after checks on vehicle and trailer. Make sure Electronic logging device is correct. Lot all miles on Daily/monthly log. Do any preventative maintenance that needs to be completed to prevent breakdowns on the road. Take care of all receipt on daily/monthly log and also on quickbooks. Plan for next shipment.
Floater- trained for Brokehustler on paper machines, shipping and receiving, #6 pulper to fill in as needed.
Brokehustler/5th hand- Pick up any and all paper, clean pit, stack sheets on skids, sweep floor, wipe down dryers as needed.
Rollwrapper- Wrap all skids with plastic and strap and label on #1 paper machine, strap and label rolls on #2 paper machine. Clean area.
2nd cutterman/4th hand- stack sheets on skid, prepare skids for current and future orders being made. Weigh and print label for stack of sheets. Run winder and cut cores for when on Rolls.
Head cutterman/3rd hand- Set sizes in boxes for orders, stack sheets on skid, Set sizes for rolls on winder, fill in for backtender, finder out how many skids or rolls are left to complete an order.
Backtender- Monitor paper and makes sure everything is in spec(Weight, moisture, curl, profile, drying temperature, coater oven temperatures, caliper, and more) scrape stacks, set up sizes on sheeter. Make sure sizes are being cut to the right size, make sure when orders are complete and make sure brokhuslter, roll wrapper, 4th hand and 3rd hand are up so speed on their jobs. Communicate with Machine tender.
Trained Machine tender- Fill in for machine tender
Shift mechanic- Rounds to make sure everything in mill is running properly(over 300 pumps and 1200 bearings, oil levels in all equipment) Change oile in equipment as needed grease all bearings. Change fuses, change belts, on evening and night shifts fixed anything that needs to be fixed in the mill and treatment plant. Assist boiler room as needed. Inform shift supervisor of any issues going on in the mille or treatment plant. Maintain filter beds and make sure the mill doesn't run out of water.
Boiler operator- Operate boilers to maintain proper steam pressure differentials to be able to run the mill and paper machines properly and efficiently, maintain air compressors for the mill, make sure there is a constant supply of water for the mill, communicate with power company and gas company as needed.
