I've removed, repaired, rebuilt, replaced, installed and realigned naval vessel's main propulsion machinery and associated equipment/components. I've also removed, repair/overhaul, install and align condensers, main reduction gears, gantry cranes, compressors, pumps, force draft blowers, main feed pumps, and various valves. I've installed and repaired foundations, operating machinery, such as cargo-handling machinery and anchor handling gear. With the use of ability to troubleshoot equipment and how to identify parts, materials, methods, and techniques, it allowed me to determine the area of difficulty and procedures to completing repairs. Also as an apprentice I was hand-selected to join a tiger team sent to Yokuska, Japan on an emergency main reduction gear job on the USS McCampbell (2014). And I was also hand selected to the emergency main reduction gear job on-board the USS Nitze (2016). I was also hand-selected to participate and assist with the analyzing of item specifications and job scheduling in the planning department.
