I have worked a number of years in different career fields such as office assistant, retail, health care and pharmacy. I believe with working in these different areas, I have gained much experience and knowledge that will help me in my future career I am currently seeking. When in high school, I worked through the co-op program as an office assistant at Morgan AM & T. There I was able to assist with putting accounting data in the computer, sort through mail, file, and assisted with other duties that were asked of me. When I worked in retail at a local grocery store, I worked as an office clerk where I was able to count registers, handle accounting, and also worked as a data clerk changing prices through the store on a weekly basis. I also worked as a cashier. In health care, I assisted many elderly persons with everyday tasks, such as medication administration, bathing & dressing, transporting to appointments and activities and meals. I took a 6 week training course to be a Pharmacy Technician, which then led me to my field of pharmacy. I am currently a pharmacy technician at a retail pharmacy. There I enter in new prescriptions to a patient's profile, count pills and fill bottles, work with insurance companies, count inventory, file prescriptions and other paperwork. I also assist with customer needs daily.
I have a certificate for the course I took for a pharmacy technician.
I worked here through the co-op program when I was a senior in high school. There I assisted with entering accounting data in the computer, filing, sorting through mail and other duties that were asked of me. I believe this gave me a good base and foundation to the start of my working career.

I started a 2 year program through Penn State for a physical therapy assistant. I took classes such as writing, math, english, computer, arts and anatomy. I did not finish this program due to other life obligations that was happening during that time. I believe I still gained a lot of education and experience while attending the first year I was there.
I took the pharmacy technician course where I learned how to read prescriptions properly, read abbreviations, set up equations, learned pharmacy terms and do hands on projects.
