Work in a hospital-based ambulatory clinic for high risk antenatal patients with a wide variety of chronic medical conditions as well as complicated obstetrical and fetal conditions. Responsibilities include obtaining comprehensive medical and obstetric history and performing physical examinations on new patients, ordering and interpretation of lab results, routine obstetrical visits, episodic visits, postpartum evaluation, wound care, birth control counseling, initiation and evaluation of all birth control methods including insertion and removal of intrauterine devices, insertion and removal of implantable devices (Nexplanon), evaluation and management of preterm labor, cervical incompetence, pre-eclampsia, gestational hypertension, and gestational diabetes. Provide routine gynecologic care including evaluation of sexual health, pap testing, and breast evaluation. Full prescriptive authority to treat a variety of conditions within my scope of practice. Collaborate care between various disiplines including but not limited to social services, physical therapy, psychiatry, urology, cardiology, gastroenterology, breast center, and uro-gynecology.
Worked in a fast paced, high acuity unit providing care to critically ill patients with a multitude of medical conditions requiring comprehensive team approach and prioritization of tasks. Responsibilities and skills included but not limited to ventilatory support, arterial lines, cardiac monitoring, ECG testing, medication pumps, evaluation of laboratory tests, resuscitation, emotional support of family.
