Infant/ Toddler Practicum Experience- Campus Children's Center: For this placement, I was assigned to observe and help out in an infant classroom at The Campus Children's Center in Bloomington, Indiana. This placement was an excellent learning experience for me, as I had very minimal experiences with children under the age of one and a half prior to this. I loved being able to watch and be apart of the learning and development that children do in their very first year of life. Because I was able to see and experience this, I gained a better understanding of where children start and where they are at the later early-childhood age.

Preschool Practicum Experience- St. Marks Nursery School: For this placement, I was assigned to the 3 and 4 year old classroom at St. Marks Nursery School, in Bloomington Indiana. Even though I was simultaneously working as a preschool assistant at Hoosier Courts Nursery School, my experience was very different as I did not have the same responsibilities as a practicum student as I did as a paid assistant. Because I was not worried about preparing lunch or cleaning and sanitizing the classroom, I was able to gain a more in depth and clear picture of how children learn through play and meaningful learning experiences and social interaction. I also got to work on my conflict resolution, positive discipline, classroom management and curriculum planning skills.

Student Teaching- Summit Elementary School: For my student teaching placement, I was assigned to a Kindergarten Class at Summit Elementary school. This was an incredible experience and I felt myself grow immensely is many areas. Particularly, I felt a huge growth in my classroom management skills and my lesson planning and implementation skills. I also gained a lot more experience in teaching academic content such as literacy and math.
