I started this career unknowingly as a 15 year old in high school. My start was as a lifeguard for large toddler birthday parties in Atlanta, GA. I found a natural ability within myself to navigate and work with groups of children, and my employer quickly moved me up. I became a full time Camp Counselor for their summer swim program. I got to work side by side by women who had over a decade of experience, and it's not giving it justice to say I learned a lot. The director gave me the option to become a swim instructor, and at age 16 I accepted the opportunity. Two years goes by, and I have worked with over 1500 children, and parents began asking me to babysit. I take one offer, and really enjoyed the different experience. I decided to leave my swim instructing job, opened up a private swim service, and began to teach and nanny.
It has been nearly 6 years since I began this career. I have worked with many different types of families, and a diverse group of ages and personality types. I have found this to be my life path, and feel very strongly about this profession. My primary focus has become to develop, learn, and grow into a better, and more knowledgeable professional nanny.
