Having worked with children of all ages from infants to teenagers, I am considered an independent nanny who takes initiative in creating child friendly activities while maintaining organized agendas with little parental guidance. Organized childcare professional adept at staying organized and managing hectic schedules. I have experience working with many different medical conditions such as Asthma, Autism and Diabetes. I am CPR and first aid certified with previous experience administering insulin or providing an inhaler. Adheres to kind and compassionate approach when dealing with discipline issues. I work diligently to keep children engaged while keeping the activities fun and light. Over the years I have worked with many different families. I have stayed overnight with the responsibility of getting a child ready for their day and to school on time. I am very flexible with scheduling; I have worked long 12-hour days with children. I have overseen care for a child over a three-day weekend while the parents were away. One of my favorite things to do is to plan a day with age-appropriate activities, while keeping the parent informed and updated throughout the day. I am very calm and handle difficult situations well. I encourage good communication with the child throughout the day by asking them how they are doing or feeling, encouraging them to talk about it by using positive reinforcement. I always anticipate the unexpected when working with children; knowing this I keep a backup plan for my workday so that if the agenda does not work out, our time is not wasted by making a new plan for the day. A small change in the plans could throw off the child's entire day and those crucial moments are the key to a successful day. I believe it is imperative for a child to understand their emotions and learn how to express themselves. This open communication approach with children helps build successful work relationships by practicing good communication for when the chaotic days immerse.
