I process in house samples for Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis .point of care and other diagnostic test. Along with in house testing I also prepare samples for shipping to reference lab. As lab manager I carefully reviewed test results for accuracy. I properly calibrated and adjusted malfunctioning equipment to ensure precise test results. Performed routine and as needed maintenance on analyzers. Identified panic test results and reported them to doctor after confirmation. I ordered supplies, obtained pricing and quotes, prepared purchase request and maintained an expense log. I managed supply inventory, handling, receiving and storage. I quickly responded to and resolved customer service issues in a timely manner . My bench duties would include reading culture plates and performing manual difs as well as performing veinipuncture on patients.
I performed as a Medical Technologist in the Quarantine and Label department.
I utilized standard operating procedures (or GMP) under the federal guidelines to evaluate laboratory test results. After reviewing the results I would decide whether the donor unit was suitable for human transfusion or commercial use. I was responsible for the QA of all donor products once received into the facility. I worked independent shifts where I was responsible for maintaining lab instrumentation, drawing inpatients, and reporting out accurate results. As an independent shift tech I would have to identify abnormal /panic test results. Follow proper procedure to confirm the results and notify on call physician if indicated. As an independent shift tech I had to use my organizational skills to prioritize in coming sample from the emergency room , operating room ,routine in house patients and ICU patient samples. During my rotation on the outpatient clinic side of the hospital, I performed venipuncture and carried out the front office duties of the lab.
