Prepare files to receive patients for appointments and order daily routing slips for scheduled clinics. Receive patients, schedule patient appointments, and answer phones. Check patients in expeditiously to ensure they make their appointments.
Check in about 600 to 750 patients a week, verify and update patient appointments, demographical data and insurance data. Also complete and update all applicable on-the-job training, answer phones, take messages and forward to recipient.
Although I have been doing this job for a little more than a year I do have prior Administrative experience in and out of the military. One of the jobs I had in the Air Force was an Administrative Specialist/Technician. I worked in various areas such as Safety, Personnel, Documentation Manager, Files Manager, and Publications Manager as well as working with the On-the-Job Training Manager.
