April 1991United States NavyNavy CorpsmanI started my military career with boot camp in Orlando, FL and continued onto Corpsman training in Chicago, IL. I was then stationed at the Bethesda Naval Hospital. At this Presidential worthy hospital I worked in several units and departments. I worked in Oncology and the OB/Gyn departments mainly performing duties similar to that of an LPN. I did patient care, phlebotomy, started IVs, wound care, and distributed medications to patients as directed by the RN. While working in the GYN clinic, I received several letters of appreciation from staff and patients. My military experience gave me the advanced medical skills and education needed to succeed and continue with my achievements. Kathleen M. McDonnell
