Medical assistant that worked with pediatrics for 8 years. Also just finished paramedic program at Johnston Community College and am soon to state test. I am looking for a part time job that is in the field that I love, I am currently enrolling back into school to finish my dream of becoming a PA and I am trying to find a place to work so I can still make my house payment. I am a very energetic person, multitasking is one of my best qualities, I do not stress when things get busy I just go with the flow. I am good at my job and patients young and old have always loved me. I love the clinical part of medical assisting, I'm good at phlebotomy, vaccination administration, and anything else that needs to be done. If I am unsure how to do something I will ask questions and learn a new skill.
DIploma in Medical Assisting from CCCC.
Certified in AMLS (Advance Medical Lice Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PEPP ( Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals)
NC State certified as an EMT-Basic, was Intermediate level but let certification expire.
CPR certified as well.
I am signed up to take my Paramedic State Exam in the near future. But i do have my certificate from JCC.
Started in November of 2013, I was there working temporarily. I did vaccinations, stitches removal, phlebotomy, lab testing, IVs, EKGs, answering phones, triaged patients, assisted doctor whenever needed. Applied splints on multiple parts of the body, also placed temporary casts on limbs, and many more skills.
I worked with ABC form 2003- 2011. I triaged patients, vaccinated, drew blood, ran lab tests, catherized patients if needed, started IVs, monitored, and removed them, Placed EKG leads, ran EKGs, and monitored them, ran spirometry tests, answered phone calls to patients with medical questions, dictated notes, called in prescriptions for providers, placed temporary casts, called and scheduled radiology appointments, called patients with results of labs.
Not sure of the dates but it has been awhile, around 2002 I worked part time mainly on weekends. Triaged patients, ran insurance, took payments, made sure all money was accounted for at the end of shift.
Started with Dunn Fire Department when I was 16 and eventually merged to rescue ran as an Intermediate until I was 22 and then went to ABC. I went back as a volunteer with rescue as a basic in November 2013.
I was hired on at ABC Pediatrics right after I was done with my clinicals. Money was tight and I really needed a job so did not go back for the Associates degree. I was planning on staying there for a couple of years and then go back to school, but that couple of years ended up being 8 years. I do not regret it I learned a lot while I was there.
I have volunteered with Dunn Emergency Services off and on since I was 16, I started out as a firefighter level II and then merged to rescue and worked starting as a EMT-B and merging to an EMT-I. I have recently gone and gotten my EMT-P and am waiting to state test.
