As a Mechanical engineer in HiAir Australia working for West Mira project.
This Project was one
of the largest platforms in the world consisting of Living areas and Machinery areas.
Design of the HVAC in this project was very specific and complicate because the unit was
working in different weather condition from -20 °C to 35 °C depending on the location of the
platform, four direction in load calculation has been considered as the direction of the platform
was not clear, so the highest value of cooling and heating load from Carrier Software has been
applied to select the HVAC equipments.
The total cooling load in this Project was 4400 Kw, four chillers were selected working with 10
AHUs and more than 60 Supply and Exhaust fans serving the spaces in this project.
