The beauty industry is my life. I pride myself in the growth and knowledge I have achieved over the last ten years of my career. My experience began in September, 2004 when I graduated from PJ's cosmetology collage in Clarksville, IN. I then began work at Strandz and Threadz salon and boutique in New Albany, In. Strandz was an award winning salon voted number one in New Albany. I watched, learned, and listened and grew very fast there. In 2005 I joined the team at Jcpenney salon in Clarksville, IN. There my color knowledge had grown extensively due to the classes that were offered and a great team atmosphere. There I learned how to build a good solid clientèle by word of mouth as well as the referral tools that were offered. In 2008 I rented a booth at Serenity place in Owensboro, KY. There i built a clientele through word of mouth alone. As a booth renter I developed my financial skills, learning how to budget and run a business.I joined the team at Jcpenney salon in Owensboro,KY in august of 2010. At Jcpenney salon In Owensboro, KY I achieved master, and master level 2 very quickly as well as stylist of the month. I continually carry a high productivity, loyalty and retention rate as well as a high satisfaction rate. I am currently employed at Jcpenney salon in Evansville. I transferred here with the understanding that I was to aid the salon leader in leading the salon by example and show how to build a book. I walk the floor with the stylists showing them how I approach Jcpenney customers to invite them to the salon. I watch their approach and give helpful suggestions. Now it has become a regular routine for our salon to take turns engaging customers out in the store and invite them to the salon. I have become the go to person for help with color, cut, and style as well as how to grow. I show them how to add services and suggest retail. Upon arriving at this location I developed a real desire to take the next step toward leading.

As an independent contractor stylist at Serenity Place my duties were budgeting, marketing, accounting, performing salon services, and compliance with state board regulations. Working there was a great learning experience in the financial and business planning part of the industry.
