Community ImpactManaging Director
Work with MPR|APM Public Affairs Committee and lead the staff team responsible for ensuring the U.S.
Congress, the State of Minnesota, and the City of Saint Paul (1) provide necessary funding for MPR|APM's operational budget, and (2) adopt policies, rules, and regulations favorable to nonprofits, the public broadcasting system, and, specifically, MPR|APM's business operations.
Work closely with MPR|APM's Development Team to secure and oversee the grant management of MPR|APM $3.3 million biennial grant from the Legacy Amendment's Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund grant, and its $800,000 biennial State of Minnesota General Fund grant.
As a of member of MPR|APM's executive team, work closely with our SVP of Development on Capital Campaign planning, strategy, and execution.
Plan and execute Business Ventures' fundraising strategy for APM's new programs, events and services, including on-demand programs (i.e.
podcasts) and national-partnership events.
Attend all meetings of MPR|APM Board of Trustee, Public Affairs Committee, Planning Committee, and other committee meetings from time-to-time (including Finance, Audit, Personnel & Compensation).
With MPR|APM's Finance Team, as a member of the executive team, help monitor and provide input on the performance of MPR|APM's endowment, and other special funds.
From time to time, attend meetings and briefings with MPR|APM's asset managers.
Maintain membership and participation in various professional associations to keep current on non-profit trends in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and the United States and ensure MPR|APM maintains a local, state, and national presence in the nonprofit community.
Provide strong leadership to the Public Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Business Affairs, and Network Station staff at MPR|APM.
Lead a cross-divisional team responsible for relationships, partnerships, and events in communities across Greater Minnesota, including Rochester, Saint Cloud, Duluth, Moorhead, Bemidji, Brainerd, the Iron Range, and others.

Provide direction, support and coaching to direct reports.

assigned to oversee MPR|APM Impact Goal: a pan-organizational (i.e.
including business units throughout Minnesota, and in California and Florida) effort to define, thoroughly understand, and to develop tracking methodology and systems on MPR|APM's impact on our Audiences.
In addition to my other duties and responsibilities, led the work of refocusing and rededicating our executive leadership team, our senior leadership team, and our organization's 700+ employees to MPR|APM's strategic goal of knowing and increasing MPR|APM's impact on our Audiences.
Accomplishments include: Developed MPR|APM's Impact Framework Led a team of IT developers to design, build, and test APMG's Audience 360 Impact Database to collect, record, and analyze how APMG programs and services impact our Audiences.
Recruited a Director of Community Impact to oversee impact projects from APMG's Content Teams (i.e.
MPR News, Marketplace, Classical MPR, etc.) Oversaw ongoing education of every manager and their division to ensure all 700+ employees understood and could explain the rationale for the framework and process for collecting, measuring, and analyzing the impact of APMG's services on Audiences and communities.
Worked with departments to ensure broad understanding and necessary work to execute on impact goals Led the effort to embed the Community Impact effort into APMG's Content Teams, effective June 2015.
To date, over 4,000 impact records have been collected and stored in our Impact Database.
Minnesota House Majority Leader's Assistant for House Administration Working closely with the House Speaker's Office, was responsible for developing, negotiating, and implementing House policies and procedures as they relate to State Representatives and House of Representative's staff; in collaboration with the Speaker's Office, managed a biannual $32.0 million budget, and the House's employment policies, benefits, and departmental design-all of which impacted 250 staff and 134 legislators.
Was responsible for tracking major House legislation as it traveled through the legislative process; Worked with legislators and House Leadership to set the House "Calendar for the Day," the House's floor activity for the day; On behalf of the House Majority Leader, was responsible for the House Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration.
