I volunteered for Salvation Army frequently my freshman year of college fa, at the University of Texas at Arlington. It was a very rewarding and stupendous experience. I also joined a club my freshman year, "The UTA Food Pantry". Which is an organization that donates canned food and dry foods such as bread, cereal, whole grain bars, etc. We did this twice a week and It was always a major success. Now, success is good but we always challenged one another to push to be even better. For example : "Providing nutrition is sweet but creating long-lasting relationships with the others is the icing on the cake."- Sam C. 2015 President of UTAFP. She was completely right and also a complete master of attraction. The propagating smiles and laughter from the customers would illuminate and fulfilling her. That is the icing on the cake. In conclusion, as a volunteer, the last thing I excepted was someone giving me eye opening advice and providing helpful resources to enhance my skills for the future. Without volunteering I would not have interpersonal skills or effective communication skills. The power of giving is amazing.
