I gained my BCUR Bachelor of Nursing Degree in 2000 (General, Psychiatric, Community and Midwifery) from Stellenbosch University in South Africa. I went on to gain registration with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council in the United Kingdom) in 2002. In England i was fortunate enough to work in Acute Medicine for approximately 1 year and then obtained valuable experience in an Outpatient Department servicing patients with a wide range of conditions including plastic surgery, orthopedics, ENT, pediatrics to name but a few. This was over approximately 6 years.


Since our arrival in Ann Arbor Michigan, i have completed training to volunteer with the Make a Wish Foundation. More recently I completed Birth Doula training provided by Dona Doulas. This was with the intention of volunteering on their Dial-a-Doula program at U of M hospital once up and running. I am currently working on my Child Birth Education course through CAPPA.

Completed training in order to work as a Wish Granting Volunteer for the Make a Wish Foundation in Michigan.

Volunteer duties include meeting with families who have a child that will be having a wish granted - getting detailed information from the child about their desired wish, paper work completion, any planning of events such as going away or welcome home parties. Volunteer duties also include helping with various fund raising events.
