Logic-focused mindsetEager and quick to learn
As a pre-loader, I was responsible for properly, efficiently, and safely loading all UPS parcel vans assigned to me (typically 3-5) before the drivers begin deliveries at 10 am. In order to do this, I underwent an hour of pre-training videos, but learned most of the facets of the job onsite. These included: moving at an abnormally quick pace (it was Christmas season), working quickly and carefully to ensure stability and organization within the trucks without injuring myself or others, applying due caution to avoid mis-loading packages, assisting others on the conveyor belt whenever time permits, and reallocating packages or groups of packages as requested by my supervisor.
Also, during my time we lost the SPA labeler due to injury. (The SPA labeler scans every package and applies the PAL - Preloader Assist Label - to the package on a visible section and also sorts the packages on the belt by which side they need to travel down). I was moved from pre-loading to "SPAing" for the remainder of my seasonal position.
