Provide Psychiatric crisis intervention services for adults (18+years old) currently located in the city and county of San Francisco. Through telephone referrals that typically involve suicidal ideation (or related concerns), agitation/threatening or menacing behavior, self-neglect concerns about grave disability, lack of adherence to Psychiatric and /or medical treatment, evictions(often due to hoarding&cluttering), conflicts with family/others in home, requests to connect with treatment(often re:medications), substance abuse/dependence, evaluations of clients presenting to ER's, Transport assistance of clients placed on 5150, A "heads up" about a person who might need assessment in near future, critical incidents debriefings. The disposition of the triage process would include a field visit for crisis assessment , (either immediately or at later time/date) referral to 911( for safety concern if MCTT unable to respond in timely manner due to staffing), crisis counseling/problem-solving, discussion of case with current providers, referral to various community resources,plan for caller to phone again if situation worsens. When warranted place client on 5150 hold and transport to PES or closest ER( if PES on diversion), for further evaluation , clients might also be brought to a shelter,home,mental health clinic,etc.,or Dore urgent care clinic for stabilization , provided with information about treatment/other resources.
Supervised mental health workers, administered medications/treatments per MD , made daily assignments, did admissions and discharges, attended recovery conferences to discuss clients goals, outcome, and concerns, supervised meal times, counted controlled medications with in coming / out going licensed staff, wrote weekly/monthly summaries , measured BS and administered necessary oral med or insulin ( with 2 license staff checking for accuracy) reported and documented any changes.
Assisted with admissions and discharges of inmates/patients. Counted narcotics with incoming/outgoing licensed staff for accuracy.
