I feel richly blessed, because my parents sent me to St. Hubert's Catholic School in Chanhassen MN. I attended all the way through 8th grade. I always loved Religion Class, and learned so much about our exquisite Church teachings and Traditions, about Natural Law, the Communion of Saints, the Sacraments, the Commandments, and so many things that really stayed with me. Father Firmin (Franciscan) and the Benedictine nuns were excellent teachers. I also attended Religious Education at Immaculate Conception during High School years.
I continue to learn every day about the inexhaustible depth, beauty and Truth of our Catholic Church. I study something spiritual each day, and I completely respect the authority of our Holy Father & the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
My family of origin has 8 siblings. We worked together on our family farm and horse breeding business since moving to Watertown. I was often the catalyst to organize civic functions at our farm. The Elim Home, 4-H groups, and other youth groups came out to the farm for demonstrations, seminars, and "fun at the ranch" field trips. As the oldest sibling, I had a tendency to be a "Youth Minister" to everyone around me. Sometimes, they even appreciated it. ;-) I also worked with my dad in the real estate business and continued the Morehouse Realty company after his death, obtaining my Brokers license in 1999.
I moved to Watertown in 1981.
My years as Executive Secretary of the non-profit corporation, Minnesota Quarter Horse Racing Association (MQHRA) were quite a powerful professional experience, where we managed to do things that many thought impossible. I learned and applied a range of skills that I feel would help me a lot in a position as Youth Minister--where sometimes it takes thinking outside the box, or being prepared for anything. I Organized and led a wide variety of programs and events.
I find I really love my religious education students every year. I continue to pray for them. It is so important for our youth to have a support system such as Catholic Youth Activities and Fellowship, and a place to learn, to help them embrace the joy and power of their precious Catholic Faith. My prayer and goal would be to show my students how much I love Jesus and His Church, and help them learn about their Faith. I want them to see how much excitement, joy, peace, wisdom, and eternal happiness can belong to them, if they embrace their Catholic Faith and walk humbly with God.
