Self Employed Retail Vending Festivals Concerts - Curator, Lead Salesman, Buyer, Liaison to Local Communities
City, STATE, 06/1984 - 01/1994
From the mid 1980's through the mid 1990's I operated a successful, life changing retail business. While it may have been anchored in Michigan, where I'd grown up, more that half of the year the business was on the road. We started out selling only t-shirts, at concerts and festivals all over the country, but gradually expanded our vending to include various crafts, oddities, and art which I discovered purchased and sold retail at the shows. At it's peak I had six employees and myself. That business gave me the freedom during those years to travel and see all of this country and much of Europe. I discovered a talent for recognizing value in things that others didn't see. I developed strong people skills and quickly realized I was an astute, natural salesman with a high business acumen.
