LEADERSHIP / EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIESMake-A-Wish

This was more of a personal project.
My father runs a business which manages data of about 3000 people including names, phone numbers, address, set-top box numbers, etc.
I had recently learnt R from edx.org then.
I tried implementing R, which is quite a simple language in the field of data science, in automating the the data management from the excel sheets that the employees manually put data in.
Though not a full success, it was worth an experience.
Used to lead a group of volunteers into cancer treatment centers to interview children suffering from terminal cancer and grant their wishes (funded by the organization).
Art and Craft Exhibition (2014): Did a project on the history of computers for Art and Craft Exhibition, South Point School, Kolkata, India.
Our job was to make models of computers starting from the first generation to the current.
The idea was given to me by our computer teacher and I took the initiative to gather people interested in doing it.
I worked with a group of about 15 of my classmates and it was quite fun and educational.
Though we had to work throughout the night before the exhibition, we made it in time and it turned out to be a big success.
It was nice to see all of the pieces coming together.
It was more satisfying to hear the visitor's appreciations.

Soccer

I have been the captain of an unofficial soccer team (2013-2016) made up of a few batch mates for two years.
Since teamwork is the key to winning a game of soccer, I feel I was a good leader in this field.
It's beautiful how it all comes together in scoring the goal to success.

Projects

Autonomous Tracker Robot (2016): Worked with a few freshman at Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata, India to make an autonomous line tracking robot which used IR LEDs and IR photo diodes to track lines.
We used C++ to program the Arduino board that was provided to us so that we could make the robot follow the line(s) accordingly.

My hobbies include playing the Guitar, the Drums and the Keyboard. I also am a gaming enthusiast. I am quite into photography and I love doing math.

The most noteworthy award I received was the first prize in a shortest Python coding competition organized by Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata, India. Apart from that, as a soccer team, we played and won 7 tournaments organized by local sports clubs.
