Committed and hard working individual, with a ten year background in Education and Child Care. I truly have a passion for working with children. I commit to supplying loving care while making sure to meet disciplinary and educational goals for each child. I am trustworthy, and focus on remaining receptive to the needs of children and their parents. My past jobs have provided me with excellent communication skills, strong ability to multi-task, and extensive experience with children from six weeks - 12 years old. I have gained a strong work ethic, as well as a professional demeanor. Working as a teacher in child care has helped me to gain important knowledge of child development, as well as age-based curriculum, and brought out a high level of creativity. I deeply adore children and desire a long term nanny position.
While in high school I volunteered at my church as a summer camp counselor with children ages 8-12.
Led a bible study for a group of 5 high school aged girls during the 2008-2009 year, for Christ Presbyterian Church in Edina, MN.
Working in child care centers led me to build strong, trusting relationships with families. Many of the parents reached out to me for babysitting on evenings or weekends.
At KinderCare I taught many learning adventure classes including; music, phonics, and Spanish.
In the summer of 2012 I worked with a set of two year old triplet boys at New Horizon Academy. One of the triplets was developing slowly, and fell somewhere on the autistic spectrum. I was able to work alongside his occupational therapist, and observe the exercises used to help him thrive. I truly enjoyed working with him to overcome his challenges and physical impairments. At the beginning of the summer the student was still crawling, with the help that his OT and I were able to provide him he was walking by fall. It was very rewarding to see this individual succeed and grow in his own special way.
In the fall of 2012 I began caring for a 2 month old infant who had just endured open heart surgery. It was very rewarding to provide care and comfort in such a time of need, as well as providing support for the parents.
One of my greatest accomplishments occurred on May 5th, 2007 when i gave birth to my own son. This experience has provided me with the most knowledge pertaining to children, child development, and life experiences in general. My son has taught me so much, helped me mature and achieve my goals, and made my love for children that much deeper.
