I am responsible for the successful transition of customers running enterprise workloads such as Oracle ERP (Ebusiness Suite, Peoplesoft, JD Edwards), Hyperion, Siebel etc to Oracle Cloud. My day revolves around different teams from sales to end delivery. I work directly with pre-sales and business teams to define service definition, activity-based costing estimates, SLAs and technical collateral. I work closely with enterprise software and Cloud development teams in building deployment blueprints that can be automated using DevOps toolkits such as Terraform and Ansible. Next hop for my daily routine is to work closely with global operation team to ensure they follow the customer commitment, underlying technical architecture and utilize tools to deliver the service. This part of the job is most satisfying and challenging as this is where "rubber meets the road". 
IT Sr Manager, Oracle Managed Cloud Services, 12/2013 to 01/2016Oracle
  • I was responsible for a global 24x7 IT Operations Provisioning Practice for Managed Oracle Cloud Services servicing a customer portfolio of $30M annually. I successfully enabled a transition from the error-prone large-scale server farm to set of smaller (reduced failure domain) compute pods and implemented rapid deployments of compute pods by implementing demand forecasting model.

  • As a technical lead, I brought down overall provisioning cycles from 5 days to 2 days and negotiated OLAs with partner teams. I worked with product teams - OVMM and Oracle Linux teams, to ensure that feature enhancements required for scaling up are delivered to us and implemented successfully in production. I also enabled new business by designing deployment blueprint for converged systems like Exadata, Exalogic, and Exalytics. The blueprint has been used for 100 customers and still serves as a baseline for new deployments.
