Contact: Meadow Club (415) 462-0980
I worked at the Meadow Club in the summers of 2007, 2010 and 2011. During my employment, I maintained order and discipline among swimmers and other persons at the pool. I monitored the pool area for violations and potential hazardous situations as well as examined injured individuals, and administered first aid. I also instructed all levels on stroke techniques and supervised and assisted with instructional programs.
I took care of three children; a nine-year-old girl, a twelve-year-old boy and a fourteen-year-old girl. Four days a week, I prepared the children's breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also picked them up from school and delivered them to and retrieved them from after-school programs. Two days a week, I drove to the market and bought fresh food for the family and once home, I cleaned and prepared the vegetables/ cut the fruit that were to be used for the following days. I also, twice weekly, vacuumed and swept the house and washed, ironed and folded the family's laundry. When in the company of the children, I played with them and taught them English.
In the Andrieux family, my duties were similar to that of the Bouvier family. I cleaned the house for the family and prepared meals for the children. I looked after a three-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy, teaching them English and spending quality time with them. I taught the children safe behavior such as seeking adult assistance when crossing the street and avoiding contact with unsafe objects. I modeled appropriate social behaviors and encouraged concern for others.
