PUMPSTAR Enid, Oklahoma
Hydraulics/Electrical Department Manager
PUMPSTAR was a truck mounted concrete boom pump manufacturer.
These pumps are used to deliver concrete to high rise buildings through 4 or 5 boom sections that operate hydraulically by a wireless fully proportional remote control.
I was hired as an assembly employee.
For the first 6 years I was in charge of 4 team members that assembled the boom pumps, mounting the base, outriggers and the 5 boom sections with a overhead 20TON hoist/crane on a MACK Truck chassis. I was also in charge of building the brackets, mounting hydraulic axial piston pumps and plumbing them.
I specialized on hydraulic plumbing, bending and cutting hydraulic tubing to a précised shape as directed on blue prints.
Cutting and crimping high pressure hydraulic hoses until Hydraulic assembly completed.
I performed the Pump cell test and boom weight stress test, and the final assembly after paint job.
I was sent out several times to customer's Job sites at different states for technical support, training and repairs.
I was called upon for all the Spanish speaking customer relations and translated documentation that contained Spanish.
The last 3 years with the company I had the opportunity to train in the electrical department, the company wanted to have a technician with knowledge on hydraulics and electrical systems.
Once I started my training, the company decided to place me in charge of the electrical department. Soon after, I was also responsible for the Customer Service-Technical Support over the phone 24/7.
Precise troubleshooting is essential when instructing a customer in the correct direction when working with the time constraint of the concrete.
I kept accurate documentation of:
-Daily activities in the department.
-Customer service calls in detail.
-Electrical Department Parts inventory.
I was asked to organize and keep track of our loaner radio remote controls.
Within two months, I had recuperated 22 remote control systems that our customers had kept as spare radios.
I learned to troubleshoot and repair the radio remote controls, replaced internal parts, soldering, transferring components to new housings.
In 2006 I traveled to Mexico City to represent the company at the World of Concrete Latino America.
The objective of this trip was to introduce our company in the South America market, as well as the collection of several potential customers.
In 2007 I took the President of the company to Mexico City to the World of Concrete Latino America.
I also had the opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico to Assemble and provide customer training and support on our first and only 32meter Placing-Boom and City Pump systems.
Overall, this company has given me the great opportunity of learning a lot of technical and mechanical technique but most importantly was the opportunity to allow me to grow into a leader.
